Okay... so... I may need some help on the ending. Did we circle back around to the beginning but the girl was no longer in the room because... I'm not sure why? Or she was in the room but the Udug told Lem she wasn't? If we circled back around, and Lem and Mags don't go in the room, wouldn't Renar's ultimate plan just go through without a hitch? Then everyone will end up dying, just not know why? Or, saying that Claire died in all the timelines, if they went back around, was Claire never there so no ultimate plan ever came to be? But then if Claire was never there, wouldn't Renar just have her errand boy grab a different girl?
I haven't asked this many questions since Lost ended.

Without getting too specifc, as I think it's best to let people decide for themselves, the key is: They had to change one moment that would lead to a different result.

Or, saying that Claire died in all the timelines, if they went back around, was Claire never there so no ultimate plan ever came to be? But then if Claire was never there, wouldn't Renar just have her errand boy grab a different girl? Well I looked at it like that, but since Claire was the first one originally marked for the spell it ruined Renar being able to do the spell with anyone else and even removing Clairefrom all universes by killing her would still prevent it from happening. Something like that at least. Then maybe them changing the event that led them to the first body will just keep them from getting involved with anyone while Renar still wouldn't be able to do the spell anymore. I dunno, i finished reading the book weeks ago and have read several things since so my memory isn't 100% on all that was said in the book.
